This is a cross-browser JavaScript function to get an element by it's ID. The script helps in generating an object reference to an HTML element. The script has two versions- one for the New age browsers version and the other for the older browsers. New age browsers are browsers compatible with Netscape/Mozilla 5+ and Internet Explorer 4+.
